OUR STORY

The name Fala7i was chosen for its connection to authenticity, originality, humility and tradition. Our foremothers and forefathers across Palestine who embraced their roots and stood together, steadfast, long before the occupation and long after to cultivate our land and raise generation upon generation of proud Palestinian women and men who carry with them this pride and groundedness, paying homage to the hard work and sacrifice of those who came before them.

My grandfather hails from a small village on the outskirts of Tulkarem called Illar. Illar was often described to me as a town where wells ran deep and olive trees thrived. It was a place where the notions of simplicity and community were cherished. Yet, growing up, I rarely heard others use the word ‘Fallah’ in association with these values. My hope is that we can reframe what it means to be ‘Fala7i’ in a way that expresses gratitude for the calloused hands that gave life to us and the land we hope to return to.

Every ‘Fala7i’ piece was crafted by Jordanian and Palestinian artisans coming together to weave a shared sense of pride in nation and tradition into every square inch of fabric. We wanted every piece to make a bold and unapologetic statement about where we come from, weaving our national pride into every square inch of fabric.

My hope for these pieces is that they keep you feeling comfortable, stylish and unique. Let the prints and designs tell the story of our origins through our patterns and embroidery.
